Hello,
I set up the Edinburgh City Cycle Tour in 2002. Since then I've taken hundreds of people around Edinburgh.

All tours are personally led by me. The feedback I have received has been excellent - the quotes displayed are a typical selection.

On this page I've listed all of the common questions people ask before booking a tour.

Adrian.

What if it rains?

I provide waterproof jackets - but it really doesn't rain much and the jackets are rarely used. In really bad weather the tour will be cancelled & refunds given but this hardly ever happens.

Do we cycle on roads?

The route goes through the city centre using a mixture of paths and quiet roads.

Do we need to be fit?

No, it really is a non-strenuous leisurely tour suitable for all ages from 10 to 70+. There is so much of interest in Edinburgh that we have to stop at least every few minutes for me to tell you what we are looking at. There are a few hills but they are very short. The route has been chosen so that we gradually rise rather than having any big climbs.

Do I need to be able to ride a bike?

Yes, but don't worry if it's been a while - it's just like riding a bike!

What kind of bikes are they?

The bikes are TREK Navigator city bikes. They are comfortable and very easy to ride. Every day people are impressed at how good the bikes are - quite often people say, "this is much better than my own bike."

Do we need to make reservations in advance?

Yes reservations are required so that I know that you are coming - you can always change your booking nearer time. So please email me with the date and time you would like to do the tour

We haven't reserved a tour but can we come along anyway?

It's best to phone , even on the day, just to make sure the tour is running and there is a bike available for you.

How many people are on each tour?

Tour groups are small - a maximum of 15 people - but usually much less.

Can we ask questions on the tour?

Yes of course, everytime we stop you will have a chance to ask me about anything you like. This enables me to make the tour fit your particular interests.

Can we take photographs?

Yes, we go to many fantastic vantage points, ideal for taking photographs. Some people have even taken a video camera (see photo opposite). If you don't have a camera with you don't worry. I can take a digital photo with my camera and email it to you after the tour.
